- The existing substrate are 12”concrete block columns, a great opportunity for installing a wood veneer with Rockmolds.com vertical wall stamps.
- Utilizing a vertical stamping system, first a specialized polymer is rolled onto the columns, then a thin scratchcoat is applied with a pool trowel.
- After the scratchcoat has been allowed to tack up, a 1/4” thick texture coat of the vertical stamp mix is then troweled up, and smoothed out.
- A liquid release is then applied to the smoothed out texture coat and to the rockmolds.com wood stamps. This allows an impression without sticking.
- The columns are then stamped from top to bottom. Line up the wood stamps to create a ramdom wood pattern.
- After curing for 24 hours, brush off any loose debris, and apply a light brown base coat of acid stain.
- Brush on more of the same color to create darker streaks, wet on wet to blend the colors.
Finally a darker brown acid stain may be brushed on to highlight with darker streaks, wet on wet again to blend the colors.- Antique the acid by rubbing a layer off with alcohol and rag. This will age the wood.
