This is an incredible technique that really works, and whether you’re a carpenter by trade, or you’re more interested in gardening or playing online bingo, you’re sure to be pleased with the authentic-looking result. If you want to camouflage unattractive stonework, this could be the solution you’ve been waiting for.

1. The existing substrate are 12”concrete block columns, a great opportunity for installing a wood veneer with rockmolds.com vertical wall stamps.
2. Utilizing a vertical stamping system, first a specialized polymer is rolled onto the columns, then a thin scratchcoat is applied with a pool trowel.
3. After the scratchcoat has been allowed to tack up, a 1/4” thick texture coat of the vertical stamp mix is then troweled up, and smoothed out.
4. A liquid release is then applied to the smoothed out texture coat and to the rockmolds.com wood stamps. This allows an impression without sticking.
5. The columns are then stamped from top to bottom. Line up the wood stamps to create a ramdom wood pattern.
6. After curing for 24 hours, brush off any loose debris, and apply a light brown base coat of acid stain.
7. Brush on more of the same color to create darker streaks, wet on wet to blend the colors.
8. Finally a darker brown acid stain may be brushed on to highlight with darker streaks, wet on wet again to blend the colors.
9. Antique the acid by rubbing a layer off with alcohol and rag. This will age the wood.
